Philosophy

C12 is a multidisciplinary platform run by the Deep in House collective founded in 2018. It’s a place where freedom, diversity, creativity and alternative culture are protected from the restrictive and normative outside world. It is a place where a passion for art & music in all forms unites all kinds of identities. The project includes concerts, art installations, lives, club nights and exhibitions.

NO!
In order to protect our place and community, we will not tolerate any of the following behaviors, even in their most passive form:
– Racism
– Sexism
– Ableism
– Class discrimination
– Religious discrimination
– Homophobia
– Transphobia
– Shaming of any kind
– Physical or moral harassment
– Physical or moral violence
– Consumption of drugs
Dangerous behaviour to self or others
(…) even if not stated above.

RESPECT!
We ask everyone to stay true to the following spirit: “Just because it’s not your problem, doesn’t mean that it’s not a problem.” Between these walls, we look out for each other, and respect and tolerance are key. Everyone among us is treated equally, regardless of who they are, where they come from and what they do. The space belongs to everyone and to no group or no community in particular.

IN OR NOT?
C12 is a private space and reserves the right to decide which visitors are allowed to enter. Represented by its hosts, it reserves the right to deny entry to every person deemed unable to respect the values connected to the project. When entering the club, you commit to respect the above-listed rules. You submit to this contract and accept it in its entirety. Based on this, we believe you share the values of C12 and you are aware to participate in a communal experience where the smooth running depends on all of us, especially you.

NEED HELP?
C12’s staff has been trained to act against any disputative situation or behavior. The club’s management reserves the right to refuse anyone violating the above-mentioned rules or the concept of our philosophy. This ban will be immediate.

We encourage anyone who witnesses a violation of the rules to contact a C12 staff member. In case of danger or when a situation is out of control, we encourage all to ask for help from a staff member, who will do their best possible to bring you to safety or to provide help. In case of indictment, C12 reserves the right to contact the authorities.

PHOTOGRAPHY
We have a strict no-photography and no-flashes policy at C12. Here is why.

We see our club as a private and preserved space, belonging to everyone and allowing all visitors to feel free and behave, dance, dress, … the way they feel. The lens of a smartphone camera can become an obstacle in creating this atmosphere, for both the photographer and the subject. We like to see every night as an experience lived together and in the moment, instead of bringing the outside world into the club or the other way around.

Furthermore we frequently notice the use of the smartphone’s flashlights in our club, often while photographing. These sudden flashes may not be intended negatively but often disturb other clubbers or the performing artists.

We have an in-house photographer who is solely responsible for the photographic identity of C12 on our social and online media. His pictures comply with our DNA and will always try to respect clubber’s privacy. If ever you feel unhappy about a picture we used, please get in touch.

From now on we will use stickers to cover the photo camera of your smartphone. These are easily removable afterwards and do remember all of us not to photograph at C12. We thank you for understanding and helping us to continue finetuning our club into a better place.

Respect yourself, the audience, the artists and the staff, stay hydrated and have a pleasant time. We wish you an incredible night of clubbing.
